is a Utah-based Americana singer-songwriter whose soaring powerhouse vocals,
nature-infused lyrics, and quippy stage banter have captivated audiences far and wide.
Born and raised in a small Midwestern town, Emily’s musical journey began as a
classical pianist and music educator before she transitioned
into life as a singer-songwriter.
She made her official debut in 2021 with three singles produced by
Grammy-nominated songwriter Monty Powell.
Among them, Goodbye Indiana—an ode to her home state before heading west—
quickly became a fan favorite and her most requested song to date.
With the release of her debut album, Weird Wild Wonderful,
Emily’s music found its way to radio stations across the globe,
breaking into the top folk radio charts.
Since then, she’s had the honor of opening for some of her musical heroes,
including Tenille Townes, Daniel Rodriguez, and Sixpence None the Richer.
Emily’s music is a heartfelt reflection of her experiences
as a self-proclaimed "granola zillennial"
blending folk, country, and pop influences into a sound that feels both timeless and fresh.
Her songs invite listeners into her world with raw honesty and humor.
Side effects of listening may include (but are not limited to):
an overwhelming urge to book a five-day backpacking trip
through the Wasatch Mountains,

and/or a newfound appreciation for canned wine.

Hicks can go from fun and entertaining,
to solemn and earnest in the span of a few songs,
and it's great to get such range in an album."
Utah Concert Review:
"Hicks’ voice stood out immediately.
She has such a smooth natural tone and she’s really good at
writing songs to fit the way she sings...
I could easily hear her voice and many of these songs on country radio."
Slug Magazine:
"Weird Wild Wonderful contains and represents each version of Hicks’ vocal subtleties
in a sincere and delightful country-pop package,
perfectly primed and ready for your enjoyment this fall as you partake
in crispy apples and hay rides down dirt roads."
Americana Highways:
"Ms. Hicks’ lyrics are of high quality as she unveils stories
& frames each with excellent backup vocalists & drama in her instrumentation.
There are no low spots during the ten Weird Wild Wonderful songs."
