Will Marsh is a global sitarist and guitarist
who effortlessly integrates the rich tradition of many genres
with elegance, imagination and innovation.

From his roots as a guitarist in small-town northern Michigan to performing Hindustani sitar in Kolkata,
Will’s musical journey has been rich and diverse. He believes passionately that music is essential to all of humanity,
and seeks to connect the past and future through music as an integral part of our collective journey. 

His latest release “The Integration” brings together a world of influences
with original compositions for sitar, guitar, cello, tabla, saxophone and more.
Currently, Will resides in the California Bay Area as a sought-after teacher, performer and recording artist. 

Will's Story

Will Marsh is a global sitarist & guitarist who carries on the rich tradition
of many genres with elegance, imagination and innovation. 

From his roots as a guitarist in small-town northern Michigan to performing Hindustani sitar in Kolkata,
Will’s musical journey has been rich and diverse.
He has been performing classical sitar and guitar around the world for over two decades.
Will has worked with Grammy-winning musicians and producers and has been featured on national T.V. 
As a young kid, Will had an insatiable curiosity around music.
He found himself listening to music from all corners of the world,
feeling transported to other cultures, times and places.
It was a profound experience that then shaped the trajectory of his artistic life. 

Will studied classical and jazz guitar at the Interlochen Academy of the Arts
before earning an MFA in World Music from The California Institute of the Arts
where he specialized in sitar and other world music.

He performs as a unique voice in traditional sitar music and continues his mentors’ legacy by teaching students worldwide.

Will’s gurus include some of the world’s greatest musicians
including Ustad Aashish Khan (eldest son of Ali Akbar Khan), Roshan Bhartiya,
Tushar Bhatia, and Shakir Khan. He travels to India annually to perform and further his studies with master-musicians.

Currently, Will resides in the California Bay Area as a sought-after teacher, performer, and recording artist. He believes passionately that music is essential to all of humanity, and the experience of connecting to the past and future through music is an integral part of our collective journey.
