Post Sex Nachos
Hailing from the middle of the middle of the Midwest, Post Sex Nachos has built a reputation for turning life’s heaviest feelings into something you can dance to. Blending genre, energy, and emotion with a tongue-in-cheek edge, the band continues to redefine what a modern “boy band” can be—one that makes you laugh, think, and move all at once.
The project began almost by accident when Sammy Elfanbaum and Chase Mueller finally started making music together during a restless winter break in college, writing their first song “Vows” and setting everything in motion. Since then, Post Sex Nachos has evolved into a 4-piece force— comprised of Mitch Broddon (lead guitar, backing vocals), Sammy Elfanbaum (rhythm guitar, lead vocals), Chase Mueller (bass, backing vocals), and Hunter Pendleton (drums), the band brings a collaborative energy that translates seamlessly from studio to stage.
Sex Nachos continues to push and redefine their sound. As for their name? That remains part of the band’s mythology. With a long-running bit involving “blood pacts” and ever-changing origin stories, Post Sex Nachos has leaned into the mystery—creating a lore that mirrors their personality: playful, unpredictable, and never taking itself too seriously… at least on the surface.
That balance defines their music. As the band puts it: “At the core of what we do, there’s always been that mix—you don’t get a name like Post Sex Nachos without wanting to make people laugh, but the reason people stay is because there’s something real underneath it.” Their sound lives in that tension—upbeat, danceable instrumentation paired with lyrics that are raw, self-reflective, and emotionally honest.
After rolling out their EP Booster Pack—featuring standout tracks like “Supergirl” and “SOS,” the latter earning SiriusXM Alt Nation Impact Track status and climbing into the Top 6 most played—the band now steps into a new era with their 2026 full-length album Big Bad.
At its core, Big Bad is about confronting the “big bad” in your life—the thing you’re running from—and finding a way to face it. A major leap forward from Booster Pack, which introduced the band in a more single-driven format, Big Bad is their first truly cohesive body of work. “This is the first record where everything feels connected—like all the songs are telling the same story in different ways,” the band explains.
Showcasing a more refined and fully realized sonic identity, the album features standout singles including “Sound of You,” “A Lot to Lose” with BAILEN, “All For You,” and “Pop Tarts” with MARIS & Annelise. Written largely in real time, the record marks a turning point in their creative process, with the band continuing to write throughout recording alongside producer Aaron Wagner.
The process was their most collaborative to date, with instrumental ideas coming from across the band before lyrics and top lines were layered in—resulting in a project that feels unified, intentional, and true to who they are. It’s a record that fully embraces their identity, balancing humor with unfiltered emotion and pairing infectious energy with deeply personal storytelling.
More than anything, Big Bad is meant to connect. “We want people to feel hopeful, to feel seen—but also to have fun and get lost in it for a while. It’s both an escape and something you can really connect to.” At the same time, the band recognizes the leap forward: “We genuinely think this is the boldest, most impressive thing we’ve put out—and we hope people hear that too.”
With a massive year of touring ahead, Post Sex Nachos continues to prove they’re more than just a clever name—they’re a band that knows how to balance humor and heart, and turn both into something unforgettable.
