Paper Wings—the duo of long-time friends and collaborators Emily Mann and Wila Frank—create warm, pastoral folk songs that feel like wandering through a forest or field, equal parts quiet contemplation and soulful journey. With delicate banjo, shimmering fiddle, and harmonies so close they often sound like a single voice, their performances are dynamic yet deeply sincere. Their writing draws on the timeless sounds of American folk while remaining wholly their own—artful, unpretentious, and filled with the strength and solitude one finds in the natural world.

Rooted in California and Oregon, Mann and Frank first met as teenagers at fiddle camps and quickly grew into accomplished musicians, performing alongside legends like Alice Gerrard, Laurie Lewis, Tim O’Brien, and Aoife O’Donovan. Together, they’ve released three acclaimed albums: their self-titled debut (2017), Clementine (2019), and most recently Listen to the World Spin (2024), a collection praised for its eloquent lyricism and profound sense of longing and connection. Their songs—like the fan-favorite “Troubled Soul” or the stirring single “Marigold”—have carried them on tours across the U.S., opening for Avi Kaplan and building a devoted following drawn to their intimate, healing soundscapes.

Experience the magic of Paper Wings live when they bring their spellbinding harmonies and heartfelt new songs to The Barn on Sunday, April 12, 2026. This will be an evening of timeless folk, deep friendship, and music that resonates long after the final note.
