The Roaring Fork Valley has always held a special place in Mike Lillie's heart.

After moving to Aspen in 1983 and making music with many of the local musicians,
it had always felt like a piece of home to him.

As a 25 year old out in the world on his own, being embraced by so many local musicians
and getting into the mix of the live scene was a tremendous part of his musical education.

It was during that time that he became friends with
Dan Fogelberg and on numerous occasions was joined by Dan on stage.

Mike still holds those memories dear to him some 40 years later.

Mike maintained many friendships from those years, including Bobby Mason .
Mike's last visit to the RFV  was to honor Bobby's memory at his Memorial life celebration in Aspen. 

Another musical Colorado connection for him was winning the Telluride songwriter Troubadour award in 1996.
