Jesse Terry’s seventh album, When We Wander, marks a new chapter in his journey—his first collection of songs written since becoming a parent. Unsurprisingly, themes of family and belonging run deep through the record, from the tender “If I Were the Moon” to the title track, which celebrates the joy of wandering together. For Terry, music has always been a family affair—he met his wife Jess while working on a cruise ship in the South Pacific, proposed at Nashville’s Bluebird Café, and the two have toured together ever since, now joined by their young daughter Lily.

A consummate troubadour, Terry has built a life on the road, performing 150 shows a year at festivals like Bonnaroo, AmericanaFest, the Philadelphia Folk Festival, and the 30A Songwriters Festival. When the pandemic halted touring, he pivoted to livestreams, building a vibrant community that sustained him both financially and emotionally. His fans—who have long supported his albums through crowdfunding—remained his “musical tribe,” and the intimacy of those virtual concerts carried over into When We Wander, which he recorded live in the studio for the first time. The result is a raw, emotionally charged record that captures both his personal growth and his artistry at its finest.

Beyond his albums, Terry’s story is one of resilience: he overcame a traumatic adolescence, earned a degree from Berklee College of Music, worked as a Nashville staff songwriter, and has gone on to win prestigious songwriting awards. Today, he’s known as an artist whose music—described by Music News Nashville as evoking “Paul Simon and Jackson Browne… with a performance that touches the heart like only a whisper can”—resonates deeply with audiences everywhere.

Experience Jesse Terry’s heartfelt songs and warm storytelling live when he takes the stage at The Barn on Thursday, March 19, 2026. This promises to be an intimate evening of music that celebrates family, hope, and the wandering spirit.
