Join Kennesaw State University Principal Lecturer of Jazz Studies and Jazz Guitar Trey Wright for an interactive and engaging program on how to listen to jazz as part of his ongoing Jazz Talks lecture series.  Each lecture includes guided listening, musical demonstrations on guitar and piano, and a Q&A.  Following the lecture, Trey will perform a set with his trio featuring bassist Joel Powell and drummer John David.

Over the past 30 years, Trey Wright has developed an audience for modern jazz music inspired by classic jazz artists including Wes Montgomery and Horace Silver with a nod to contemporary artists including Brad Mehldau and Radiohead.  A Blue Canoe Records recording artist, Trey’s original compositions and arrangements have been featured on NPR’s All Things Considered, Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale, Delta Airlines In Flight Entertainment, and German ESC Records Head Radio Retransmissions – a Tribute to Radiohead.  Since 2023, Trey has led the “Jazz Talks” music lecture/demonstration series at Reynolds Lake Oconee and the Strand Theater in Marietta.
