Event info
J. Carmichael writes ballads about love, God, and a world spinning out of control.
He has been defiant, perhaps to a fault, for most of his life,
and it echos in his music, from the way he writes,
to the instruments he plays, to what he writes about.
Never content being confined within a genre, he grew up on Nashville Now
and 90’s punk and indie and is influenced by the songwriting giants of many
genres; just as comfortable at a fiddle festival as he is at a punk rock show.
J has released 2 full length records and a handful of EPs.
He has also shared the stage with the likes of Lucero, Mike Herrera’s Tumbledown,
John Moreland, Ha Ha Tonka, Scott Biram,
The Legendary Shack Shakers, Two Cow Garage, Parade of Bad Guys and more.
He is releasing his new album If It Hurts My Head, If It Breaks My Heart in 2024 as a series of singles from spring until fall.
He will also be playing venues from Idaho to West Virginia in support of the new releases this summer
