Blue Note Comedy Series - Local Comedy Showcase

Jose Raymond’s path to becoming a top stand-up comedian started when he moved from Mexico to California, later relocating to Maui at the age of seventeen. Winning numerous competitions on the island of Maui, he decided to pursue a full-time career in stand-up comedy and relocated back to California.

For the past 12 years,Jose has graced some of the most prestigious comedy venues in the world, including the Apollo Theater, Hollywood Laugh Factory, Improv, Comedy Store, and HaHa Comedy Club.

Jose and his family, including wife Angela, son Adrian, and their Dalmatian Muay Thai, returned to Lahaina, Maui, and two two daughters, Izel (14) and Citlali (11), who were born and raised on Maui.

Marking the one year anniversary of their return to Hawaii, on August 8th, 2023, their world was turned upside down when a wildfire struck their neighborhood. With no electricity, Wi-Fi, or cell phone signal, and surrounded by chaos, they were forced to evacuate, leaving behind their home and all their personal belongings. Despite their losses, Jose’s Ohana count themselves fortunate to have each other. November 4, 2023 Jose Raymond returned to the stage to headline a near sold out show at Blue Note Hawaii. On Monday April 1, he will return to headline Blue Note Hawaii once more.
