Dakil

Dakil is a Libyan American urban alt-pop singer songwriter and acclaimed loop artist  influenced by blues, funk, rap, and all things Europe. After graduating from UCLA, Dakil recorded his debut record, Out of Nowhere in Madrid, Spain which features the notorious party pleasing anthem, "Never Trust a Scorpio." 2019 was a big year for Dakil because he not only released Out of Nowhere, but while on his first tour he was diagnosed with a rare disorder, Acromegaly. The mutation sends dangerous amounts of growth hormone throughout Dakil's bloodstream causing uncontrollable growth to various organs including, the hands, feet, and head. He claims that his voice has drastically changed over the years due to this but overall it's given his performances the unique depth and power of Andre the Giant. Following his brain surgery to treat Acromegaly, Dakil spent the pandemic perfecting his loop skills which he is praised about for making them look easy as he simultaneously commands a crowd and gets into his unmistakably acromegalic libyan fusion of a groove. Today in 2023, big haired Dakil is a producer, a songwriter, a performer, a fashion designer, as well as a rare disease advocate entertaining fans while on tour and on Instagram. He will be putting out a new wave of singles of all genres this year as well as continue touring the globe for as long as he possibly can.
