Burner laughs are brought to you by the burning man camp No Holes Barred Comedy Club. They are canvassing for new members and to see if they will make good campmates. We are meeting everyone in person for a comedy show. You will see the best festival comics in America compete for their spot at our camp stage to get in front of the ultimate audience in an unusual setting. All proceeds go to camp No Holes Barred, so we ask that you pay what you want, use code BURNERBUDDIES (all caps) for half off tickets.
The camp is run by Trish Smart and you can see her host the show!
Trish Smart is a nomadic stand-up comic that flies under the radar and into your watering hole. Right now she’s living in a van down by a walmart parking lot painting a toilet selfie to sell at a show near you. She is an edgy comic that pushes the envelope of what women should be allowed to say out loud. Top credits include Black Rock City Radio, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and Sziget festival. Amidst her renditions of her quixotic lifestyle choices, Trish has smooth transitions and unexpected punch lines; she makes everyone want her to keep speaking slightly louder than everyone else. Trish will ease you into uncomfortable situations you didn’t know you wanted to be in, and give you a night you will not soon forget.

Yannick
Yannick is a Togolese-born comedian who relocated to Silver Spring at the age of 11. As a child in his home country, he took to the arts early. He was a dancer, model, and also acted in many plays. After moving to America he used humor as a coping mechanism for dealing with a new environment. As a senior in High School, he won class clown at Springbrook High School, which spurred an already budding interest in stand-up comedy.
At the age of 18 he first took the stage at a small bar in Silver Spring, and after a solid performance was invited back by the host to perform on a showcase. Imbued with a new sense of optimism and much to his parents’ chagrin he told them that he would start pursuing stand-up comedy professionally. They tried to keep him away and “focused on his studies” but he finally dropped out of his Pre-Law courses at Montgomery College, and moved to New York City to pursue his dream. After a year in New York he produced his first half hour special at the age of 20. Shortly after its release he moved back to DC and began integrating himself into the comedy scene, performing at local (now defunct) favorites like The Pinch, Drafthouse DC, and others.
