After a successful debut, the Richmond Animation Festival returns to the Byrd Theatre for its second year! A new program of the best animated short films around the world kicks it off at 5:30. Then at 7:30, artist Robert Beatty presents a program of his own animations followed by a live Q&A. Beatty is most well known for his work in contemporary album covers such as Tame Impala's Currents, his work with Oneohtrix Point Never, and his own band Hair Police, but he also has an incredible body of video-image works that blur boundaries between the figurative and abstract, animation and design, and the otherworldly and the lo-fi.
