Founded in 1988, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis tours the world performing a vast repertoire of music, from historic and rare compositions to commissioned works. RIJF 2025 is honored to feature the premiere of "Democracy! Suite" featuring Wynton with Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra Septet in the first half of the evening. The second set features the entire orchestra performing compositions and arrangements from the libraries of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Fletcher Henderson, Thelonious Monk, Mary Lou Williams, Dizzy Gillespie, Benny Goodman, and Charles Mingus, as well as new music from the group’s unrivaled collection of world-renowned composers and arrangers.

The Rochester International Jazz Festival (RIJF), in Partnership with Rochester Regional Health, is one of the world’s leading jazz festivals. Every June, the joy of music brings the world to Rochester, New York, to see legendary performers, familiar favorites, rising stars, and new discoveries.

 

The multi-dimensional nine-day festival presents more than 1750 artists annually from around the world in 285+ shows including 110 free shows, Jazz Workshops and Jam Sessions at 18 indoor venues and on outdoor stages. 

Enjoy all genres of creative improvised music and unique musical sounds from many countries, highlighting international artists' take on jazz, the only truly American art form. With the festival's European-style format, you can park once and walk to and from all venues. 

RIJF was founded in 2002 and is produced by RIJF, LLC, a privately held company owned by Marc Iacona, Producer and Executive Director, and John Nugent, Producer and Artistic Director. The festival draws more than 200,000 music fans annually.
